Patches Backing
Types Of Patches Backing

No Backing
Embroidered patches can be made without a backing. If fact, they start out that way. These patches will show the twill or threads on the backside of the patch, and are generally more flexible.
Heat Seal ( Iron On ) Backing
Heat seal backing is easy to apply – all you need is a heat press or an iron set on low-medium temperature. Simply place your patch face down onto the adhesive side of the heat seal backing, and press for a few seconds

Magnetic Backing
Half-inch magnetic discs are attached to the patch turning the patch into an embroidered (or woven) magnet. The amount of magnets attached to the patch depends on the patch's size; however, they are super-stong—one magnet is usually sufficient for a standard three inch patch.

Adhesive (Peel and Stick ) Backing
With this easy-to-use adhesive, you can quickly attach your favorite patch designs without having to sew them on. The peel and stick backing makes it simple to apply patches .

Plastic Backing
Plastic backing adds stiffness and support to the patch allowing it to stay flat over time while still leaving the patch thin enough to be sewn onto a garment.

Pin Backing
When the patch is being created, one or more pins are placed inside the layers of backing, twill, and thread, allowing the patch to be used as a pin or brooch. Once pinned through the garment, butterfly clutches (included) are used to secure the patch.

Button Loop Backing
Button loop backing is a great way to secure your embroidered patches and ensure they stay in place. It's an easy-to-use, cost effective solution that provides superior durability for any patch application.

Velcro Backing
Velcro backing is a great choice because it’s easy to use and provides a secure hold that won’t come undone easily. It also allows you to adjust the patch if needed without having to remove or re-sew it in place.
